Sustainability is an essential element in
everything we do at TKNotes. We are constantly looking for ways to improve our
processes, and are happy to share some of our main sustainable initiatives with
you.
Wind Powered Website Platform
Our website is powered by FatCow, an EPA Green Power Partner.
The energy used by FatCow's data centers, web servers and offices is offset by
200%, with the purchase of Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs). That means for
every KWH of electricity they use, whether it's providing customers with
unlimited bandwidth or simply making coffee in the office, they buy twice that
amount in RECs, which are applied to generate wind powered energy.
Products
95% of our cards, envelopes and packaging are made from recycled
and biodegradable materials. We
print on Enviro 100 and Classic Crest ecological paper, which is FSC certified
100% post-consumer fiber, 88 bright, chlorine free. Our clear card protective covers are
made from plants and certified compostable by the Biodegradable Products
Institute (BPI). These are a compostable and sustainable alternative to
traditional plastic packaging. Our
mailing envelopes are made from recycled laminated kraft fiberboard and our
boxes are Cradle-to-CradleCM certified recycled boxes from the US Postal
service.
