Jill and Matt chose the iconic Santa Barbara Courthouse as the venue for their wedding ceremony and the very chic Canary Hotel for their reception. Both venues are filled with beautiful architecture, which they wanted to use as a reference for their wedding stationery. The colorful tiles found in both locations turned out to be the perfect inspiration.
TKNotes created a custom design for the couple by hand painting a stylized graphic of the circular atlas tiles found in courthouse’s breathtaking circular staircase. This graphic was the foundation design element for all of their wedding stationery. The couple’s wedding colors of magenta and turquoise was inspired by their upcoming honeymoon in Thailand and provided a beautiful color palette for their wedding stationery.
The hand painted atlas was woven through the Save the Date design in a modern mash-up bouncing across the page. This same atlas was then painted as a modern border for the classic wedding invitation design, with a simple magenta atlas in the center of the invitation to create a crisp, clean, letterpress look.
The invitations were printed on thick cotton paper, and the printed design was dry embossed to create a dimensional digital letterpress. Again, pulling inspiration from the wedding venue, each envelope flap was hand embossed with a custom design reminiscent of the large iron gate at the Santa Barbara Courthouse.
This fully custom suite included a Save the Date card with coordinating ash blue hand embossed envelope, wedding invitation with turquoise blue envelope, RSVP card with coordinating ash blue hand embossed envelope, Welcome Reception detail card, and Table Name Cards.
